If anything though, the day proved to anyone that was watching that backing to win isn't always the fastest way to making your fortune, with the backing to place total coming in at just a £2.20 loss compared to over £100 loss when betting to win. It is a form of betting which requires discipline and long-term ambition, but speaking from my own experience it is by far the better way of making consistent profit at the races.
With that in mind, and following some feedback from one of the viewers of the blog, I have decided to mark in bold red type, any of the horses that I seriously fancy to at least run into a place. That way anyone who fancies a casual punt and doesn't want to back a large number of runners can do so quickly and easily.
That said, both forms of the blog are still showing profit overall, and we go back into the markets today hoping for a better outcome all round.
